How is Coaching Different than Therapy?

This is a very common question and point of distinction.

Therapists treat mental health issues.

Coaches build mental fitness, meaning a focus on well-being and growth.

Therapy helps one heal from the past.

Coaching helps one with the present and where one wishes to be in the future.

Therapy focuses on the "why" of behaviors, such as limiting beliefs, negative self-talk, etc.

Coaching focuses on the "how," such as getting unstuck (good-bye overwhelm!) or working toward a goal like banishing fear.

Each provide valuable support and can help you in a multitude of ways, which is why many people utilize both (myself included!)

Our Story least a few lessons learned...

You may know at least a portion of our story. Well, now my kids range in age from 16-24. When people ask how we are all so close, my answer is - we survived TOGETHER.

This wasn't six separate journeys (albeit each of those VERY important) this was our collective journey as a family.

We learned to communicate when it was painful and scary and at least one of us was filled with anger.

We learned to ask questions and respect boundaries - and to know when to do each.

We learned that peeling back the layers to find our authentic self is always worth the discomfort.

We learned the true meaning of unconditional love.

And, we learned that laughter and embracing the messiness would bring us together and get us through!

These highly personalized sessions will help you overcome current challenges as well as prepare for future conversations and possible situations. Practice and integration of new tools and strategies empower you to move forward on this beautifully messy journey. Love and acceptance can help any family thrive and be happy. Choose from two packages. Sessions are one hour each.

Email Coaching

Who is this for?

Anyone who feels uncomfortable being on zoom or in a group setting. Anyone who is more comfortable expressing what they are going through in writing.

Anyone who is at the very beginning of their journey and just needs to get grounded.

Why does this work?

By removing the barriers of video, feeling pressured to speak in group settings or workshops, and allowing for the freedom of written expression, research shows that people are more willing and able to process through the particular challenge they have.

How does this work?

Utilize the convenience of email or Voxer to communicate with me. One email/day or seven per week allowing 24 hours for a response. If you can
express yourself better in writing or if you often need to communicate in the middle of the night, this is for you!
